Campanula hagielia Boiss., 1875

Kusular, Datça peninsula, MUĞLA ● Turkey

Description: Biennial plant with one to many erect wavy stems to 30 cm long. The leaves are alternate. The basal in rosette are heart to oval shaped and may occasionally have a small pair of lyre-shaped leaflets below this. The stem leaves are oval and denticulate.
The large flowers (20 to 35 mm) in raceme are blue to violet-blue, tube or bell shaped with five petals. The calyx is soft hairy. The five stigmas are long.

Biology: Flowering in April.

Habitat: Rock crevices on limestone cliffs and slopes up to 300 m altitude.

Distribution: Eastern Aegean islands (Samos, Kastellorizo, Chios, Patmos, Tilos, Symi, Halki and Rhodes), coastal Western Anatolia.
