Grammos Mount, KASTORIA ● Greece

Etymology: in dedication to the French botanist of the XVII era, Louis Morin.

Description: This plant is nature wonder! It is a tall one (more than 1 m high). The white and rose flowers have a nice perfume… but in the same time the leaves are very spiny. Perennial plant, from 50cm to 1.50 m high. Entire or emarginate calyx lobes, white or pinkish white corolla, and filaments long as the corolla lobes.

Flowering period: May-June.

Habitat: rocky sunny slopes of mountains.

Distribution: from South eastern Europe to Indian Subcontinent (Albania, Bulgaria, Former Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India).
In Turkey, it is distributed in inner Anatolia excluding South-East Anatolia.
