Common names: Black Soldier Beetle [En], Téléphore obscur [Fr], Zwartpoot soldaatje [Nl], Dunkle Fliegenkäfer, Eichenweichkäfer [De]

Marmaris, MUĞLA ● Turkey

Description: The length is 8.5-13 mm. The legs are entirely black. The pronotum is black, with narrow yellow sides.

Biology: The imagos feed from insects, such as aphids, and also from plants such as flowers of fruits. The females lay their eggs in moist soil. The larvae are predators of small insects and other creatures.

Habitat: Woodland edge, upland open woodland.

Distribution: Europe and Western Asia.
