![Ophrys episcopalis Poiret, 1816

Description: Large impressive flowers (up to 2cm long). It can be distinguished by its large, outspread lip, small petals which are normally not conjoined at their base, and the small lateral protuberances.
Biology: It flowering on end of March - April. They are pollinated by Eucera rufa.
Habitat: Phrygana, maquis, terraces, alcaline soils.
Distribution: Eastern Mediterranean distribution, from Crete, where it occurs frequently, to Israel.
