Heliophanus aeneus Hahn, 1832 ♂

Description: Both male and female have a length of 5-6.8 mm. The tibial apophysis is long and slightly bent. The embolus is slightly bent, robust protrusion on its base. The prosoma is dark brown or black, with metallic sheen, some white scales in the area of anterior eyes, Sternum and legs are dark brown. The opisthosoma is black, with white band at anterior margin, posteriorly sometimes with a pair of white marks.
On the female, the epigynal groove is approximately one diameter apart from posterior epigynal margin. The colouration is as in males, except the opisthosoma with smaller markings or completely brown without markings. The legs are light brown or yellow.
Habitat: Under stones and on tree trunks, up to 2300 m in the Alps
