Description: One of the largest blues in Turkey. The male has greyish blue upperside, usually dusted with dark scales. The forewing has a relatively wide sooty black border, while hindwing border is narrower with dark marginal spots between veins.
The female is brown with a faint orange submarginal band with black spots.
Below, each wing has an arc of black postmedian spots, faint submarginal spotbands on both wings contain little or no orange.
There is a black spot within forewing cell and whitish wedge extending from submarginal band to center of hindwing.
Biology: It flies from late June to early August. The foodplant is Cicer sp., Cicer anatolium in Turkey.
Habitat: Diverse subalbine meadows near coniferous forests.
Distribution: Eastern Anatolia (Turkey), Kurdistan province of Iran, the Caucasus and Elburz Mountains.
