Tolmerus atricapillus Fallén, 1814 ♂
Common names: Kite-tailed Robber fly [En], Gemeine Raubfliege [De]

Livadia, SERRES ● Greece

Description: The male is about 17-23mm, the female about 19-25mm
It is a typical gray-brown robbery which can be distinguishing mostly with the male genitalia.

Biology: Adults can be seen from May to October. It rests generally on stones. Like other robber flies, it feeds on other insects, which are captured mostly on flight.

Habitat: Various, including forests, meadows.

Distribution: Central and Eastern Europe, Asia.
