![Mononychus pseudacori Schoenherr, 1825
Meise, BRABANT ● Belgium (on Iris pseudacorus)
Etymology: from the Greek μόνος [monos], single and όνυχιον [onychion], nail, claw.
Description: This little weevil of 4 mm has a sigle claw on tarsus and a dorsal white spot.
Biology: It feed on Iris sp. and lay its eggs inside the seedpods, specially Iris pseudacorus, the Flag iris.
