Fritillaria acmopetala Boiss.

Ulupınar, Olympus, ANTALYA ● Turkey

Description: Deciduous bulbous plant. 5-9 leaves, green or bluish green, elliptic to linear. Each stem of 40 cm produces 2-3 flowers, olive green and reddish-brown and not tessellated (checkered) nor do the tepals have median stripes. Flowers are inverted and bell-shaped with flared rims. The tips of the tepals curl back strongly.

Habitat: Fields, cedar forests, on limestone up to 2.000m.

Distribution: South-western Turkey (Antalya to Icel), Northern Cyprus (rare, maybe extinct), Syrie, Palestine. Cultivated in gardens.
