Description: The wingspan is 26-34 mm.
Biology : The larvae feed on Eryngium campestre. The moths fly in July and early August.
Habitat: Steppe slopes and dry forest clearings, roadsides with scarse and dry vegetation.
Distribution: Ponto-Mediterranean species. Widespread in Europe from the south of Bohemia over eastern Austria to the Black Sea and Greece. Also in Turkey and in the south of the former Soviet Union.
